Meet The Team

Mr Muhammad Reza Ebrahim

(B. Paedagogics, B. Social Science (Honours), M.Ed.)

"Value each moment. It may never come again."

With twenty five years of teaching and nine years of management experience, Mr. Ebrahim brings to AGC a host of skills and values that will benefit learners, teachers and parents.

His emphasis on lifelong learning encapsulates hard work, resilience, dedication, conflict resolution, community outreach programmes, changing teaching strategies, and a strong Islamic ethos. He advocates character building, ultimately leading to learners becoming balanced human beings.

Mr SHehzaad Ismail

I live by the rules and guidance of the Hadith and Holy Qur'an and strive to be a leader on and off the field.

Shehzaad is a qualified Sport Scientist and life coach.

Mr Haroon Seedat

(BA UHDE, BEd)

"Try not to become of success , rather try to become of value."

With 38 years of teaching experience, in both school and at corporate level, Haroon has also designed, developed and developed curriculums and has been involved in designing and developing assessment materials for ESL and TOEFL.

Haroon is now an expert in ONLINE teaching and the development and delivery of ONLINE materials from the Intermediate Phase up to the FET phases. He has extensive teaching experience in English Home Language at High School Level.

Mr azgar amod

Nelson Mandela held the conviction that "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world." I like having an active role in mediating the empowerment of young people towards this goal.

I have been in education for 18 years, having come out of a research area in engineering

National Diploma in Chemical Engineering; Bachelor of Science degree; Postgraduate Certificate in Education; and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree.

Mr Mohamed Iqbal Tarki

(Hafiz, Qari, Aalim)

"The Holy Quran was sent as a guidance for all humankind. Learn and implement it in your daily lives."

Sheikh Tarki, qualified in 1991, brings to the classroom his extensive experience in teaching and nurturing future huffaz and aalimahs. His goal is to guide and lead his students towards the Quran in sha Allah.

Dr Asadullah Karimov

(PhD (LAN.LIN & LIT)

"Learn Arabic, the Language of Quran, Hadith and Islamic Source."

Dr. Asadullah Karimov was born in Tajikistan and raised in an educational environment.
He obtained his PhD in Language, Linguistics and Literature from UNISA in 2019 and has been continuously involved in learning and teaching Arabic at different levels for the last 29 years.

The love for teaching languages in general and the Arabic Language in particular and its progression through the younger generation is what keeps him motivated.

Muallima Shuniz Ahmed

BEd Hons; BCom Hons

My aim is to challenge students to realise their full potential and form a solid foundation to become true leaders in both their personal and professional lives.

Shuniz is in her 6th year of teaching and currently holds a BCom Degree in Accounting Sciences, Honours in Accounting, Post Graduate Certificate in Education & an Honours in Education

Coach Refiloe Wadjah

(Sports Management Diploma Bed in Foundation Phase - in process)

Coach Refiloe, usually known as Coach Fifi has served the sports industry for the past 6 years. She has aimed at improving the learners skills, personality, attitude in so many ways such as being egoless, being supportive, keeping an open mind and having non-judgmental space. By being respectful at all times and interested in what learners do. To further boost their self-confidence, to encourage fitness and good health, to be an active listener and to adjust to different personalities. She is training future athletes.

ReIifoe has taught Northern Sotho for the Foundation phase for the past 3 years. She has provided a different language to the school, which gives learners an opportunity to know at least one African language. She has opened a room for improvement, leadership, giving learners a sense of control here and there, responsibility and positive competition throughout learning.

Muallima Lutfiya Ally

(ACT, NPDE(Foundation Phase), Dip. Mont, Cert. OTA)

Muallima Lutfiya comes with 17 years of experience educating foundation phase and special needs learners.

Her passion for the development of holistic learners ensures that Al-Ghazali children are developed into physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually healthy individuals. Muallima Lutfiya’s aim is to help every learner and educator reach their full potential.

Abdool Gaffaar Sheik Ahmed

“Wish for others what you wish for yourself. Learners are a trust unto me and it behoves me to ensure that I teach them to the best of my ability and to fulfil their rights so that I can stand in the presence of my Creator having tried my best.”

With thirty-five years of classroom experience, Abdool Gaffaar has taught many subjects ranging from Accounting from grade 8 to grade twelve, Typing from standard 6 to standard 9,English standard 4 and 6, Geography standard 7, Business studies grade 10 and 11, Mercantile Law standard 8, Life Orientation from grade 7 to 12, EMS from grade 7 to 9 and currently teaching History grade 10 (first time) and Natural Science and Technology grades 4 to 6 (first time). He has taught Matric Accounting from 2002 to 2019 and has marked the NSC final examinations from 2003 to 2017.

He has the experience of teaching curriculum under four different systems from 1987 to present day. His specialist subject is Accounting. In addition he has also taught Islamic Studies, Duas and Surahs grade 5 to 9.

Mr Samsuddin Vashi

Mr Logan Moodley

(BSc. H.D.E (Post Graduate). BEd (Hons.) UKZN)

With thirty years of teaching experience, Logan has taught and promoted both life sciences and physical sciences using a variety of innovative and simple teaching methods.

Ms Karen Brits

(Thed 4 years and Helen O ' Grady International Drama trained)

With 35 years of teaching she has incorporated many styles of teaching over the years. She empowers her students with her positive outlook on life.

Each student is treated like her own and she will go the extra mile for them. She has also instilled a love for art and drama in her students. She studied fine arts for 5 years snd is an artist in her own right. She was also principal of the international drama academy Helen O’ Grady in Pretoria. She has always had a passion for teaching.

Sheikh Abdullah Gangat

Muallima Fatima Cheikh

(Honours in Clinical Psychology, Honours in Arabic studies, Masters in Child Psychology, PHD candidate)

Muallima Fatima has a Masters in Child Psychology and Honours in Arabic studies. She has developed an Arabic for non Arab children syllabus called “THE BAADIYAH APPROACH”, based on child and language psychology in the Islamic framework, stemming from her studies at Al-Azhar university and under many other Islamic scholars.

Fatima has been running various programs at the school such as the Thinking skills program, Busy bees program for girls, Hadith ambassadors and robotics, all aiming at developing a wholistic Muslim child.

Abdool Kader Beemath

With 25 years of teaching experience including the recent online learning and teaching experience, Abdool Kader Beemath has learnt good class management skills within a diverse environment and engaging learners in effective learning applications holistically.

He uses and is prepared to use innovative teaching styles to suit the current needs of learners keeping the values of Al Ghazali College in focus.

With the rapid approaching of the 4th Industrial Revolution Muallim Muhammed Javeed Ebrahim has recognised the importance of blended learning and Islamisation of the current curriculum. He therefore, strives to provide an education that is suited to the Muslim child living in the 21st century.

Roshen Amod Hajee

Muallima Roshen has been at Al Ghazali College since it’s conception in 1999 and she is a very dedicated, sincere teacher who strives to always put her learners first. She believes that every learner is part of her extended family and she treats them with love and compassion.

Mualima Aatifa Sheikh

It’s been 24 years, and still, Mualima Aatifa walks into the classroom eager to see her learners, ready to experience what the day has to offer. Aatifa is a dynamic, innovative and curious teacher, who is always willing to take teaching and learning beyond the classroom.

She is keen to progress and adapt to the changing times in education. She played a key role in pioneering the Project Based Learning, the Inquiry Based Learning and Steam Exploratory Lessons and Activities. She took up the challenge of online learning with no hesitation and made extra effort to discover different and unique ways to use the technology based approached to keep her learners engaged.

She is a firm believer, in learning without boundaries and creating classroom spaces where her learners can progress through play (no matter the age) and self discovery.

Ms Farheen Kalla

Reading has always been a passion for Farheen. Teaching English, literature and History allows her to share her love of reading and Politics.

She hopes that her passion for the subject as well as her training as an educator will help to open the minds and doors of opportunity for her students. Her aim is to make learners socially conscious.

Muallima Maryam Kurtha

Holding 5 years of experience in the education sector through tutoring and teaching a range of learners from different backgrounds, with different learning styles, and with unique talents, Maryam has developed and continues to develop towards a holistic approach to teaching and facilitating the growth and development of a whole being.

Muallima Khadija Osman

With six years of classroom, blended learning and online teaching experience, Khadija has designed, planned, created and evaluated effective training and produced authentic, innovative and engaging learning materials for her teachers & learners.

Khadija has been training educators and students using a variety of methods including one on one instruction, blended learning, group and web-based e-learning.

Mr Muhummad Kauthar Razak

With six years of diverse experience, including international experience as well as adult literacy in a variety of curriculums and grade levels. Being a skilled project manager, public speaker and licensed Assessor and Moderator.

Mr. M. Kauthar Razak is a committed and involved Educator that will ensure innovative and engaging learning experiences for all students, that is sure to stimulate learner growth and develop students in a variety of ways.

Mrs Rehana Bhagwandeen

Born and raised in KZN. 28 years of secondary school teaching experience. 10 years of external marking experience (highest position: DCM). Currently being empowered through a vastly new experience.

Muallima Fawzia Ismail

(BEd (Bachelor of Education), Arabic, Tajweed, Hifdh, Islamic History and Deenyath)

Muallima Fawzia has been in the field of Deen for the past 5 years, Alhamdulillah. She is well versed in Tajweed, Quran, Surahs and much more. She has a unique approach towards teaching learners their Deen.

Muallima Natheerah Petersen

A self motivated and confident individual whose enthusiasm for teaching is motivated by the willingness to see positive change in the world.

Natheerah has been 10 years in the Education sector in various roles and private schools. She is currently a Foundation phase educator assisting in building the base for our future leaders. As she always says, ‘Only upwards and forward together!’
